The events in the show preceded those made famous by the U.S.S. EnterpriseTM NCC-1701 led by Captain Kirk in the Original Series. Though the NX-01 was a predecessor to the iconic ship, the NX-01 featured a sleeker appearance and claimed an audience all its own.
